One of the first questions I get when I pitch Eventster to a startup investor or somebody who is tech savvy is, “How are you different?” or “How are you better than _____ ?”
These days, everyone is aggregating data and utilizing numerous APIs to build some really cool stuff. But it’s when a company creates its own intellectual property and build value on top of what other great companies have done… that, my friend, is when you have something different.
So back to the question, “What does Eventster do better or different?” First, Eventster has the largest database of events. More isn’t aways better, until we found a way to bubble the best events to the top and make it easy to find events most relevant to you with powerful filters.
By letting the crowd vote, we give our users the power to decide the events that everyone sees first. With our beta testing, we found this to be a fun and addictive addition. We even go a step further to bookmark all the events you upvote. They’re organized in a simple calendar within the app. It becomes a nifty way to see all the upcoming and past events that interest you.
